(Post 74)You forget how to blog!! Well, what can I say. Its been so long since I last updated my blog that I couldn't even remember my password to access it and had to reset it! Now that is bad! Not only that - but the layout of blogger seems to have changed in such a short space of time. This in itself has thrown me off track. (Post 73)As the week goes, its been a good one! Not much beading, but I do have some recent makes to show you. The Earring Challenge .... 52 pairs in 52 weeks ... is tripping me up, and I don't think I hold the record for being the 'last' person to catch up, but it wouldn't surprise me if I'm close to it.
Today, I have four pairs of earrings to 'show and tell'. Not all my time is spent making jewellery and I continually get side-tracked by new ideas, new techniques and the freedom that my recent retirement affords. However, I am conscious that I do need to blog MORE ... not just to please my wonderful virtual friends who read my blog but to Junehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03567533920526308116noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546805755774049719.post-49964925523422891682012-03-27T22:30:00.000+01:002012-03-27T22:30:58.544+01:00Spring Cheers ... (Post 71)I love this time of the year, although it may be a little unpredictable, weatherwise. Funny since I started this the weather has taken a turn for the better - full on sunshine, not that I'm complaining.
I've got a lot to show you, its been a busy few weeks. Where to start?

I'd like to give a quick run through on my creativity throughout February.
Admittedly, its many moons ago now but I'll see if I can make it brief.
I forecast for February that I would develop my skills with the Peyote stitch which I did very nicely with Celia's necklace and Donna's cuff bracelet.

Since my last Post I have been getting to know Peyote stitch a bit more and feel I'm making good progress. Its one of the most popular bead weaving stitches as its so versatile and strong. (Not so good if you need to rip it back at any stage though!).

The last three months have been a whirlwind of learning. Just when I think I've caught up with technology, whoosh .... there it goes again, whizzing past me!! Then my competitive streak races to catch up again! I've gone from a blog to having a Facebook Page, to Twitter and now I have been introduced to the concept of Etsy Treasuries - My 1st Entry.

February Forecast (Post 62)So far 2012 is proving to be a very interesting New Year and I thought I'd reflect on what January has meant to me. At the end of last year I joined Operation Tackle That Bead Stash (aka OTTBS) and unwittingly that 'jump started' me back into making jewellery - after a short interlude.

I started this year by saying I'm not making resolutions yet I find myself promising myself just the opposite. I was so impressed with Norma Jean Dell's tutorial that I made a 2nd pair, this time using the beautiful gemstone Unakite. Don't worry, when I said last week that maybe I'll do 52 pairs - I was only joking.

I'm not a great one for New Year's Eve ... yet, strangely, I love the 'actual' New Year. I feel revitalised, just love the thought of what the future may hold and feel positive to have that fresh start.

Mine was a little unusual this year, as I went on holiday early arriving back on Christmas Day. (Post 53)It crossed my mind that a lot of what I know has been 'self-taught' or as I like to say 'elf taught'. Interestingly though, as you read through other artists' blogs you come across a majority who also admit they have had no formal training and quite often have 'accidentally' taken up their chosen craft.

Winter has approached quite quickly, don't believe all those stories that UK has the warmest November on record; it certainly doesn't feel like that to me! I'll give you, its been dry, but its definitely scarf weather.

That's what comes to mind to me. Then of course those girls grow up, but don't necessarily change. Take for instance, being pushed down a kiddies slide in a swimming pool!
